Introduction to the Windows Provisioning Module
Thank you for your interest in WPM™, the Windows Provisioning Module™ for LinMin Bare Metal Provisioning.
WPM enables you to remotely and natively install Microsoft® Windows® Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7®
- Architectures: x86 and x64 (to the extent Microsoft supports each architecture)
- OS Editions: all editions published by Microsoft (e.g., for Server: Enterprise, Standard Core...; for Windows 7: Ultimate, Professional...)
- Localized versions: all
Before releasing WPM, we provisioned over 50 combinations of Windows versions, editions and architectures on a variety of physical and virtual systems, representing over 1000 successful Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 provisioning events. Our expectations of this early access program include having the product face different client system hardware configurations and your unique operational procedures for deploying systems. We look forward to benefiting from your domain expertise.
Participation in Early Access Program
If you have not been invited by LinMin to join the program, please let us know of your interest and register by completing this form and mentioning "Windows Beta" along with the types of Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 of interest to you, details on your company and type/size your production installation. We will contact you shortly. Thank you!
Expectations of Early Access Program Participants
- Have familiarity with LinMin: have installed/used it, have provisioned Linux or Windows Server 2003/XP clients
- Have a copy of LinMin Bare Metal 5.5.2-5 running in a sandbox environment (so as not to disrupt business operations). We will gladly provide an license key for an additional system if needed.
- Have experience with installing and using Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7
- Have access to Windows ISO files and to legally-obtained Product Keys (alternatively, here are links to Microsoft evaluation ISOs that do not require product keys)
- Provision at least one version of Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7, preferably on different types of physical systems (so we can be exposed to different hardware configurations)
- When reporting issues, provide helpful, detailed and complete information to enable us to reproduce your incident as quickly as possible. Please review our recommendations for submitting incidents at Contacting LinMin Support
- Provide us with your candid feedback: what you like, what you would like to see improved, enhancement suggestions. As always, the more examples and "use cases" so we understand your reasoning, the better. Thanks!!!
- Keep everything confidential: all information, results, know-how and other intellectual property shared with you remains the property of LinMin and is confidential between you and LinMin
- Not use WPM beyond the Beta period without having licensed it from LinMin
