VMware's ESX is a bare metal hypervisor on which Virtual Machines are created. These VMs in turn will run traditional operating systems, such as Windows and Linux, that can be both provisioned and imaged using LinMin Bare Metal Provisioning.

The provisioning of ESX 4.0/4.1 and ESXi 4.1 is supported.

This tutorial describes the steps needed to remotely install ESX and ESXi on client systems (typically servers and blades) using EPM, the optional ESX Provisioning Module:

1)Prepare the ISO media and create "Install Instances" using LinMin-supplied scripts
2)Prepare Provisioning Roles using the browser-based Graphical User Interface
3)Power up the Client System to be provisioned

Please refer to the Application Programming Interface (API) tutorial to integrate LinMin Bare Metal Provisioning's functions into your IT application.
