While Ubuntu is provisioned using a DVD (and then accessing the Internet to access an Ubuntu repository), Debian is provisioned exclusively using remote repositories. Thus, there are no ISO-related preparation steps for Debian.

ISOs are best downloaded from the Internet.

Only DVD media is supported by LinMin. DVD ISOs can be obtained at no charge from remote repositories. For example, for Ubuntu 10.04.2 Lucid Lynx:

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/release/ubuntu-10.04.2-dvd-i386.iso (32-bit)
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/release/ubuntu-10.04.2-dvd-amd64.iso (64-bit)

If you have the Operating System on a DVD or CD-ROM, extract your ISO from the physical media.
